Help is the bridge to hope, and that begins with us
Values:
We are Christians.
We want to help. Our motivation for serving is simply a response to the grace and mercy that has been shown to us through the gospel. "And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God." ~ Ephesians 5:2
We do not discriminate. We serve all people regardless of religion, race, ethnicity, gender or sexual orientation.
We believe all human beings are made in the image of God and worthy of respect: "So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them." ~ Genesis 1:27.
We believe serious mental illness is a disease, not a definition. Every person has valueand purpose.
We advocate. As Christ followers we are called to speak up on behalf of the destitute. "Open your mouth for the mute, for the rights of all who are destitute." ~ Proverbs 31:8
We don't believe in quick fixes. Some individuals will require ongoing support and long-term housing.
We are committed to going the distance in seeking solutions, "Give justice to the weak and fatherless; maintain the right of the afflicted and the destitute." ~ Psalm 82:3
We are not a substitute for medical treatment.
We respect and value assisting people in their own medical decisions.
We want to help get the right treatment to the right individual. The compassionate use of Assisted Outpatient Treatment is an import tool for a small percentage of individuals who have significant mental illness with Anosognosia. We support families through this difficult process.
